Accessibility Statement
Mildenhall Driving School is committed to ensuring digital and physical accessibility for all students and visitors, regardless of ability or technology. We aim to make our services and website as inclusive as possible.
1. Website Accessibility
We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 level AA. Our website has been designed with the following features:
-
Clear Layout: Simple navigation to help users find information quickly.
-
Text Alternatives: Alt-text for images to assist screen-reader users.
-
Contrast & Fonts: High-contrast colors and legible font sizes to improve readability.
-
Mobile Friendly: Full responsiveness for those using tablets or mobile assistive devices.
2. Driving Tuition & Vehicle Accessibility
We believe everyone should have the opportunity to learn to drive. Our local services include:
-
Learning Support: We provide tailored coaching for students with neurodivergent needs, such as Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, or ADHD. We can adjust the pace of theory and practical instruction to suit your learning style.
-
Anxiety-Led Instruction: Special focus on calm, patient teaching for those with driving-related anxiety.
-
Vehicle Specs: Please contact us directly to discuss the current vehicle specifications. As a franchisee, our vehicle is a modern, late-model Bill Plant Driving School car, typically featuring adjustable seating and steering to accommodate various physical needs.
Note: If you require specific vehicle adaptations (such as hand controls or left-foot accelerators), please let us know. While our standard fleet may not have these fitted, we can advise on specialized local instructors who do.
3. Feedback and Contact
We are always looking to improve our accessibility. If you encounter any barriers on our website or wish to discuss specific requirements for your driving lessons, please get in touch:
-
In-Person: We are happy to meet at a convenient, accessible location in Mildenhall to discuss your needs before your first lesson.

I offer lessons in a manual vehicle
Our Training Vehicle
At Mildenhall Driving School, we teach exclusively in a manual transmission vehicle.
-
Vehicle Type: As a Bill Plant franchisee, I operate a high-spec, modern hatchback (typically a Volkswagen Golf or similar), which is replaced regularly to ensure maximum reliability and safety.
-
Manual Gearbox: Learning in a manual car provides you with a full UK driving license, allowing you to drive both manual and automatic vehicles once you pass.
-
Adjustability: The vehicle features multi-way adjustable seating and a reach-and-rake adjustable steering wheel to ensure a comfortable and ergonomic driving position for students of all heights.
-
Dual Controls: For your safety and confidence, the car is fitted with He-Man dual controls, allowing the instructor to take control of the pedals if necessary.
Accessibility Note: If you have a physical disability that prevents you from operating a manual clutch or gear stick, you may require an automatic vehicle. While I do not currently offer automatic tuition, I am happy to point you toward local specialized instructors in the Suffolk area who do.
Quick Comparison for Students
